Nationwide and European Horse Transportation
North Yorkshire Horse Transport offer a quality horse transportation service across the whole of the UK and Europe.
North Yorkshire Horse Transport is located in the village of Brompton near Northallerton, North Yorkshire. We cover England, Ireland and Europe and we can move your horse or pony whatever your requirments are. We also offer a 24 hour call out service so if you have an emergency please contact us.
We care for each horse and the horses welfare in transport is our main concern. For that reason we operate as a horse taxi service, unlike many of our competitors whom operate much more like a bus service with multiple pick ups and drop offs. Our horsebox carries only your horse/horses on board and we aim to transport your horse with as little stress and delay as possible.
We also operate as a horse taxi service as we find this limits the risk of viral or fungal contamination between horses from different yards. However, if you do want to do a shared load with a friend or someone you know and split the costs we would be happy to do this.
ESTABLISHED IN 2007
North Yorkshire Horse Transport was set up by Jodie Hooks in 2007, after she realised the need for readily available local transport in the area. Jodie is a careful driver and a sympathetic horse handler, owning and breeding her own horses. She has over 18 years of experience dealing with foals, youngsters and nervous horses.
The Horse Box
The Sonic is built on a brand new Peugeot 3500kg chassis fitted with the latest 2.2HDi diesel engine which conforms to the most recent Euro 4 anti-pollution standards producing 120bhp and 320Nm of torque. This super smooth engine together with 6-speed gearbox is extremely economical, effortless to drive and makes easy work of town traffic, hills and the open road.
The horses travel rear facing between the axels giving the lowest possible centre of gravity for a safe and comfortable ride. (according to veterinary records (1996) this decreases stress and helps lower heart rates) the fully adjustable partition provides two stalls and the low wide ramp with safety loading doors helps encourage your horse to load and travel happily.
The Sonic has the added benefit of a tack/changing room which is totally separate from the horses and incorporates two saddle and bridal racks and two coat hooks. There is additional storage for rugs etc over the cab.
Other features include:
Spacious, padded interior making the journey as safe and comfortable as possible.
A Thermometer in the rear, to monitor the temperature of your horse(s) travelling area throughout the journey.
Three seater cab, meaning you are welcome to travel with us if you prefer.
